General Membership Meetings
Our general membership meetings usually follow a “Newsmaker” format. Individuals featured in current news stories address the membership on issues of interest to the media. Other lunches may be devoted to subjects of technical interest to the members. Publishers are urged to bring staff members and guests to these interesting and informative luncheons. There will one in the Spring and in the Fall.
Mentoring Programs
From time to time, members of the Hawaii Publishers Association act as mentors to local high school students and their journalism programs, offering advice and help in improving their publications.
Member Bonus: Legislative Representation
The Hawaii Publishers Association acts as the industry’s voice on legislative issues. Members are active in lobbying legislators and HPA hires professional representation on an as-needed basis.
